To reset your Sharp TV: Make sure your TV is switched off and unplug it. Hold down the physical power button on the TV for at least 15 seconds. The problem for me was two fold. 1. Open the Menu. Go to Initial Setup, Input Settings, Output select. Set Output select to "fixed". If it is set to variable, the audio menus are greyed out. 2. Go to Audio Settings. Under the Treble, Bass etc settings is Auto Volume - set this to "off".
Press Win + R. Type mmsys.cpl and click OK. Make sure the Playback tab is selected. Choose Speaker/Headphone or Speakers and Headphones (make sure the HDMI cable is plugged in). Click on the Set Default button. Select the output device connected through HDMI. Click on the Set Default button.
If they don't work with PC then its cables otherwise Mac. Try USB0-C->HDMI dongle. Actually I do have one, if it works with the dongle does it mean it’s a mac problem? Okay so I updated my laptop to the newest version 12.5 to 12.6 HDMI works perfectly now, no dongles needed just the port and cable.
